The Steam Apprentice Club (SAC) is proud to announce the shortlisted candidates for the 2025 Steam Apprentice Club Awards, celebrating the outstanding achievements of the next generation of engineers, restorers and steam enthusiasts.
Each year, these prestigious awards recognise the remarkable young people whose skill, passion and commitment are helping to secure the future of the road steam movement. The shortlisted apprentices represent the very best emerging talent within the steam community – individuals whose dedication ensures that the knowledge and traditions of steam engineering will continue to thrive for generations to come.
From restoring engines to supporting events and sharing their enthusiasm with others, this year’s finalists embody the values at the heart of the SAC: learning from the wisdom of experienced mentors, keeping heritage alive and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.
The shortlists are:

Paul Stingmore, the Chair of the Steam Apprentice Club, said: “These young people are not just the future of the SAC – they are the future custodians of our nation’s steam heritage. Their energy and dedication ensure that the skills, stories and spirit of the traction engine world will never be lost.”
The winners will be announced on 15 November 2025 at the National Traction Engine Trust’s Annual General Meeting, where members, supporters and industry figures will come together to celebrate excellence, teamwork and the enduring legacy of steam.
