Thank you to everyone who entered the Steam Apprentice Club’s 2026 photographic competition. The response has been outstanding, with participants capturing the character, atmosphere and excitement of passion for steam traction engines through a varied collection of images.

Paul Stingmore, Chair of the Steam Apprentice Club, said: “I am grateful to everyone who took part and deeply impressed by the quality, imagination and attention to detail evident in the photographs submitted. The entries demonstrate real skill and enthusiasm for steam, making the judging process enjoyable and extremely difficult.”

The winning photographs will be revealed in the next edition of Raising Steam and published here on the SAC website. Until then, the judging continues and anticipation is building.
