Event
Camping Available Tick if Required
These two days involve miniatures only. You are invited to attend for the whole weekend, and camping space is available. You may also attend individual days if you wish. Please tick which days you would like to attend
The Steam Apprentice Club will endeavour to give each apprentice a place on at least one of the driving days they apply for, therefore when selecting attendees for each driving day we may give priority to those who only apply for one driving day ahead of those who have applied for multiple days.

Payment

To be eligible to be selected for a driving day, this form AND payment must be received by the coordinator.

(YOU MUST PAY WHEN YOU APPLY!)

Payments for unsuccessful applications will be refunded (or cheques will be destroyed).

Our Driving Days are fully inclusive events welcoming our Steam Apprentices. However, to ensure that the Apprentice, their family and the engine crew all have the best possible experience it is essential that the “Information Sheet” on the final page is completed. This information may be shared with the organiser of the day to enable them to make the best possible matches.
Driving days are one of the most important things we do, which is getting you on engines. We hope you will look at going to the one nearest to you to learn more about looking after an engine, steering and driving. When you go to these events you are of course representing the club. We want you to enjoy your day and be safe, so therefore please pay attention to what your instructor tells you at all times and be on good behaviour. In your invitation letter there are words that the organiser ‘has the final say’ on all matters and that would include removing you from an engine if deemed necessary.

I have read and understood all of the above

Important Notice to Parents.

The NTET has a Child Protection Policy and would never knowingly put a child at risk. The SAC could not run the driving days without the help of a large number of volunteers. Please note is not practicable for the NTET to check all helpers. We ask that parents stay on site for the duration of the event, unless specifically discussed and agreed with the organisers.

Food may be available at the event. If the Apprentice or any family member has an intolerance or allergy, please let us know but it is your responsibility to ensure that any food consumed is deemed safe.

I have read the Notice to Parents and agree to my son/daughter taking part in the driving day as detailed

Steam Plough Club Hands On Weekend

The Steam Plough Club (SPC) have offered two places on their Hands On Weekend to Steam Apprentice Club Members. The cost of this to SPC members is normally £200 per person but it has been agreed that for two successful SAC members the cost will be £50, with the SAC and SPC jointly sponsoring the difference. Further places may be available at full cost of £200. Additionally for insurance reasons those attending will need to join the SPC, with a year’s membership costing a further £30.

The weekend will be held in the Oxfordshire area in early August. The exact dates and venue are still to be determined. We will contact applicants once these are known to check if they are still interested.

In view of the size of the equipment and strength required to operate it, there is a nominal minimum age for this weekend of 16. Those slightly younger may be considered provided they have the physical stature for the effort that will be involved.

Due to there only being two subsidised places available please complete the below to assist the SAC and SPC select the successful applicants for these two.
