Last year’s model competition was a roaring success, and we saw a wide variety of your creations| So this year we would like you to do the same, build a model of something steam related that you’d see on the rally field, this could be an engine, a living van, a threshing machine, a trailer, or anything else you can think of. You can make your model out of anything you can find, but here ar some suggestions…
Lego – Meccano – Metal – Card – Paper – Wood – Plastic – Recyclables – 3D Printed
You might want to choose a real thing to copy or you could come up with your own ideas – wherever your imagination takes you! The judges will be looking for attnetion to detail and creativity.
You can enter by bringing your model to display at Bedford, or by sending in photos. If entering with phots, please send us up to 10 photos of your model, making sure to include at least 3 photos of the finsihed model. The judges will be intersted to see photos of the model during the build to see how you made it. If you are able to include a few words to describe the build, that would be apprecaited too.
The winners will then be announced on the SAC facebook page and website, and also in Raising Steam.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st 2nd and 3rd place.
You can send up to 10 photos, please make sure there are at least three of the finished model, and include photos showing the different stages of the build (so we can see how you’ve built it!) We will put a selection of your photos on display at Bedford, alongside the usual model competition entries. (All your photos will be shown to the judges).
Entries should be emailed to: sac.publicity@ntet.co.uk
Please include your name, age and membership number. You can tell us about any special features of your model.
Entries at Beford to arrive for display as early in the show as possible (by the morning of Saturday 14th September at the latest). Emailed entries to arrive by the end of Saturday 14th. See the bottom of the page for how to send in your entries.
Rules:
Judging:
The judges will be looking for originality, composition and technical ability. Photographs do not have to be of traction engines, but other subjects must clearly be related to the traction engine movement. The judges’ decision on all entries will be final and members are asked to accept them in a spirit that will bring credit to themselves and the Steam Apprentice Club
