Hollycombe is one of Britain’s largest collections of steam offering visitors a nostalgic look at how the Victorians and Edwardians used steam as an instrument of work and play, and featuring a number of popular fairground sideshows of the period.
Visit Anderton Boat Lift, a giant three-storey-high iron edifice on the banks of the River Weaver Navigation. It is one of the 'Seven Wonders of the Waterways' and together with its visitor centre, coffee shop, play area and nearby Northwich Woodlands, it makes for a great day out.
Bursledon Brickworks was founded in 1897 by the Ashby family. The Ashbys were partners in Hooper & Ashby, successful builders merchants in Southampton. They also made bricks. The first brickyard was at Chandlers Ford but when an opportunity to start making bricks at Bursledon arose they jumped at it.
The Bedford Steam Engine Preservation Society was formed by a few stalwart steam enthusiasts on 27th February 1956 and has grown over the years into one of the largest preservation societies in the country. Our first steam rally was at Woburn Park back in 1957.

The Model Steam Road Vehicle Society Ltd was formed in 1985 to encourage Model Engineering of Steam Road Vehicles, from Live Steam Traction Engines and Wagons through to workshop equipment.
