The Steam Apprentice Club (SAC) is proud to offer young enthusiasts hands-on opportunities to get involved with steam at events across the country. These events are vital – they help to inspire the next generation, celebrate the heritage of steam and create unforgettable memories for apprentices and visitors alike.

However, these events don’t run themselves – they rely on the support and passion of volunteers to make them a success. We’re especially looking for more support at events in the north of England, where apprentice involvement continues to grow and where extra hands can make a real difference.

Volunteering at SAC events is hugely rewarding. Whether you’re helping to run activities, supervising apprentices or sharing your knowledge, you’ll be playing an important part in keeping the spirit of steam alive. It’s a great way to give back to the community, meet like-minded people and enjoy some fantastic events from a new perspective.

We’re asking all members – and anyone passionate about steam – to consider offering some time to help support our events. Whether you can spare a few hours, a full day or even a whole weekend, your contribution will be genuinely valued.
