NTET and SAC Launch New Websites to Celebrate Steam’s Future and Past

May 2025 marks the launch of two brand-new websites for the National Traction Engine Trust (NTET) and the Steam Apprentice Club (SAC) – redesigned from the ground up to reflect the energy, professionalism and passion of today’s steam preservation movement.

These new online platforms are more than just a digital refresh; they are a bold statement of intent. With improved navigation, mobile-friendly design and striking visuals that celebrate steam in all its glory, the websites offer members and newcomers alike an engaging, informative and inspiring experience.

Built with our community at their heart, the websites showcase the incredible history of traction engines while providing practical tools for members – from event listings and technical resources to youth engagement and membership benefits. Whether you’re a lifelong enthusiast or just beginning your journey, the new websites are your gateway to steam on the road.

Rob Wing, Chair of the NTET, commented: “The new website reflects exactly who we are: an organisation deeply rooted in heritage, but full of life and moving forward. We’ve created a space that honours our past while being fit for the future – and it’s something we can all be proud of.”

Paul Stingmore, Chair of the SAC, added: “This gives young people a fresh and exciting way to get involved. The new SAC site is designed to be vibrant, informative and welcoming – everything we want our club to be for the next generation of steam enthusiasts.”

The new NTET and SAC websites are now live – inviting users around the world to discover, connect and get involved in a movement that’s as proud of its roots as it is passionate about its future.
