2024 AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the National Traction Engine Trust will be held at the Royal Maritime Hotel, 75-80 Queen Street, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO1 3HS. and virtually as a Zoom webinar, on Saturday 16th November 2024, commencing at 2.30pm.

The Meeting

Formal notice of the meeting, along with the Agenda, Reports & Accounts, together with the names of those
standing for election and a voting form, has been distributed with the Autumn issue of Steaming.

There will be no ‘live’ online voting although attendees in the meeting itself are able to vote on the day.

Members are encouraged to exercise their votes by submitting their ballot forms either electronically or by post in advance of the meeting. The results will be announced during the AGM. A voting form is published in the AGM Booklet. If submitting by email, please use the form and scan it as an attachment. Please return it by Wednesday 13th November via the postal address stated in the booklet, or email it to: general.secretary@ntet.co.uk

AGM Visits

Saturday 16th November – Bursledon Brickworks Museum

In the morning, we have a specialist opening of the Bursledon Brickworks Museum. (The Brickworks Museum, Coal Park Lane, Swanwick, Southampton SO31 7GW. Open 10am – 1pm

You will be able to visit the museum and see its original 1897 John Wood & Sons steam engine running which powers the brickmaking machinery.

The traction engines based on site will be in steam in the yard. Visiting steam engines, large and small, are invited to join us.

Overnight storage for engines will be available for those wishing to attend, longer stays may be available subject to negotiation. If you wish to attend with an engine, please contact Keith Reynolds ewaota@hotmail.co.uk 07739120853.

 

Sunday 17th November – Boat and Workshop Tours

We will meet at the dockyard gate at 10am, which is 200 yards from hotel, then go to boathouse 4. We will then be split into groups and have 3 tours of ,199 Steam Pinnace, VIC 56 tour, Workshop floor tour. With groups rotating after 30mins.

This has all been kindly laid on by the steam Pinnace and boathouse 4 team some of the boat tours require being able to go up and down metal ladders.
