Rally Organisers Section
It is with regret that Charlie Cribbes has announced that he is unable to continue as Section Head of the Rally Organisers Section. We wish Charlie well for the future and thank him sincerely for his time and support during his tenure of office.
We are very pleased to announce that John Wye, a professional Operations, Training and Compliance Manager, who also works as Safety Officer with a number of events in the South and West Country, has agreed to step into the role of Head of Rally Organisers Section with immediate effect.
When John was working previously with Charlie, he produced training material for Rally Monitors and is now creating training course material for Event Organisers. He says that he is very much looking forward to heading up the Rally Organisers Team.
Another announcement from the Rally Organisers Section is that Alan Holmes stepped into the role of Rally Authorisation Officer, taking over from Stuart Gaines who resigned in October.
Alan has a wide experience of Events management and coupled with his organisational skills has quickly settled into the role. He may be contacted via email at rally.auth@ntet.co.uk
Funeral arrangements for David Hargrave
David Hargrave
Sadly we have been advised of the death of David Hargrave. He had a short illness, suffering with cancer.
He will be known to many enginemen and rally organisers as a very talented photographer who was to be seen at many rallies around the south and south west of the country.
Funeral arrangements will be posted in due course.
Breakdown Recovery Scheme – Rates Increase
The NTET Breakdown Recovery Scheme is operated by PRP Rescue who have advised us that on January 1st 2023 the preferential rates which our members pay to join the service will increase.
This is the first increase since the scheme was started nearly 20 years ago and at a mere £20 increase, it is quite modest; the scheme still represents fantastic value for money!
All currently active scheme members have been made aware of the increases.
The tables below show the new rate for each of the categories of membership.
